Who wrote 'We'll Run into Again' – and what'due south the story behind the Vera Lynn song?

Originally released in 1939, 'Nosotros'll Meet Again' is a British song equanimous by Ross Parker and Hughie Charles, and sung by Matriarch Vera Lynn.

Who was Dame Vera Lynn, and how old was the wartime vocalizer?

Born on 20 March 1917 in East Ham, London, Matriarch Vera Lynn lived with her mother Annie, a dressmaker, and her begetter Bertram, a plumber.

By the age of 7, the talented entertainer had started singing in working men'southward clubs and became the family'due south main breadwinner, before adopting her grandmother's maiden name 'Lynn' as her stage name aged 11.
